Connect with the Commission in Guyana

CONNECT GUYANA in conjunction with Amazon for Christ will continue the mission of the Great Physician as the team of medical personnel and evangelists travels via plane, bus, and boat to one of the least reached areas of the world. Med-Evangelism helps open up new areas for the Gospel and church planting.

The CONNECT GUYANA Team will also work in conjunction with BIMI missionaries and faithful national pastors to reach children by evangelizing in the public schools and holding Vacation Bible Schools throughout the region.

Why Guyana & The Amazon?

The CONNECT GUYANA Team will experience several aspects of missionary work unique to the Amazon as they experience the Amazon people’s warm hospitality. The Amazon basin holds the largest concentration of uncontacted people found anywhere on earth.

Guyana is also home to the largest group of Hindus in the Western Hemisphere, creating an incredible spiritual crossroad and missionary need. One unique aspect of work in this South American country is that the people of Guyana predominately speak English as their official language, making gospel communication and personal ministry especially direct and impactful.

Key Ministry Focus Areas

  • Mobile Medical Clinics: Free physical checkups, triage, vital medicines, and reading glasses serving remote and riverside villagers.
  • Personal Soul Winning: Dedicated evangelists sharing the Gospel with every patient while they wait and receive care.
  • Public School Evangelism & VBS: Conducting classroom presentations, children’s Bible programs, and distribution of scriptures.
  • Church Planting Assistance: Laying foundational spiritual groundwork alongside national church planters.

Field Leadership & Host Missionaries

The CONNECT GUYANA Team will be led by Sean Lunday (BIMI South America Director) and will be hosted on the field by veteran BIMI missionary families and local national pastors:
